Off to Vancouver and NHL 08Shawn Drotar

Posted on July 26th, 2007 in Gaming, Opinion by Shawn Drotar

Mark and I are traveling to Vancouver today, where we’ll take part in NHL 08’s “Community Day” on Friday in nearby Burnaby.

Naturally, we’ll let you know about everything we hear and see about the game as soon as possible… assuming we can still type, of course.

You see, on Friday morning, we’re supposed to play hockey. Not the video-game version - the real deal.

Yes, I grew up in Colorado, and yes, I know how to ski, snowboard, drive snowmobiles and ride horses… but ice skates? Let’s just say I never figured them out.

Then again, that still puts me ahead of Mark, who will be making his skating debut on the Burnaby ice. I wish him well - and hope he has as good an insurance policy as I do.

The picture to the left is of the fabulous Vancouver General Hospital. Check with the front desk if you don’t hear back from us.

I am also jealous…i’ve never played ice hockey, just roller, but would be a blast to try out.

I’m looking forward to learning a lot about the NHL game too, it’s my most anticipated sports game right now. I really want to hear from you guys whether the skating on defense is tightened up like they say.

    Enjoy the trip, guys!

Mark and Shawn = The next Crosby and Malkin

I assume you guys are playing at 8 Rinks in Burnaby?

I would like to hear some impressions on the new goalie mode.

Have fun guys and try not to get hurt. Been really looking at getting this game since I have not had a NHL game since the debut on PS2. BTW I do agree with Squid that video should be required.
